HOLLY SPRINGS (GA) — WellStar Health System will open its Cherokee Health Park in Holly Springs on Thursday. The facility’s location is off Sixes Road, just west of Interstate 575.
WellStar stated that the facility, which measures 112,000 square feet and is four stories tall, will serve more than 127,000 patients within its first year.
Kem Mullins (executive vice president, WellStar Health interactive health massage chair System) stated that WellStar has always been dedicated to providing better to world-class health care for patients in the communities it serves. “The response to our concept of health parks has been overwhelming positive and we are thrilled Cherokee County, which is home to more than 1,200 WellStar employees, will be our first outside of Cobb County.
The WellStar Cherokee Health Park in Holly Springs will be constructed in two phases over a 60-acre site. Phase 1, which is expected to be completed by August 2019, will provide primary care and specialty physician offices, urgent care, and medical imaging. It also includes a sleep center and cardiac diagnostics, laboratory outreach services, and OrthoSport physical therapy.
Patients will have access a variety of medical specialties including general surgery and family medicine.
Joe Brywczynski (senior vice president, WellStar Health Parks Administration & Development) said that the company is thrilled to be able to respond to the growing need for healthcare services in Cherokee by creating a health park that is convenient for residents. The community-based facility, which is similar to other WellStar Health Parks in the area, will improve the patient experience by offering outpatient services, procedures, and doctor visits all under one roof. It will also be connected with an electronic medical record. Patients and their families will have a single-stop shop experience. All services will be available closer to the patient.
Cherokee Health Park at Holly Springs, one of four WellStar Health Parks will be at 1120 WellStar Avenue. Acworth Health Park , East Cobb Health Park, and Vinings Health Park are other health-park facilities. The combined health parks will be able to treat over 564,000 patients in 2018.
